Scholastic Entertainment and 9 Story Media Group have unveiled their joint slate of new kids and family programming, which includes new shows in development, recent third-party acquisitions, and new episodes of returning favorites.
In Development:
- Dragon Girls – Based on the Scholastic book series by Maddy Mara, the CG animated series follows three girls who are transported to a magical realm where they are transformed into powerful, shimmering dragons! As they come to grips with their new dragon powers, they realize that this is just the start of their epic adventure.
- Paris & Pups – Specials & Long-Form Series – Inspired by Paris Hilton and her real-life pets, Paris & Pups is a CG-animated series now live on YouTube and the YouTube kids app. The series is now in development for a long-form adaptation and two original specials. Set in the glamorous Fabuluxe Hotel, Paris & Pups follows Paris Star and her five fabulous pups.
- I Spy – Based on the search-and-find book series created by author Jean Marzollo and photographer Walter Wick, the game show sees contestants compete in a series of classic searching games with a modern twist.
- The School for Wicked Witches – Based on the book by Will Taylor and published by Scholastic, The School for Wicked Witches follows 15-year-old Ava Heartstraw, who finds out she is magical – and wicked.
New Acquisitions:
- Do Not Watch This Show – Based on Andy Lee’s book series “Do Not Open This Book,” the 2D animated series stars Wizz, a pompous blue monster who is desperate for viewers to stop watching. Voiced by Lee himself, Wizz’s increasingly absurd attempts to sabotage his own show only make him more irresistible.
New Episodes, Returning Series:
- Donkey Hodie Season 3 – Donkey Hodie lives in Someplace Else, where she and her pals empower preschoolers to dream big and overcome obstacles, to work hard and persevere, to be resourceful and discover they can solve problems on their own.
- Rosies Rules Season 2 – The 2D animated preschool comedy series follows the adventures of Rosie Fuentes, an inquisitive and hilarious 5-year-old girl just starting to learn about the wow-mazing world beyond her family walls.
