The dark comedy series, Wednesday, can often be found at the top of Netflix charts long after its release. The Addams family spinoff starring Jenna Ortega as Wednesday Addams and directed by Tim Burton is in tough competition with Netflix’s best original shows like Squid Game and Stranger Things 4. With a murder mystery plot, viral choreographies, a multi-talented cast, and two Golden Globe nominations, the astonishing number of views of Wednesday on Netflix substantiate the many records broken by the hit show.

On July 23, two weeks before the debut of season 2, Netflix announced the return of Wednesday for a third season. Co-creator Alfred Gough told Netflix that “Miles (co-showrunner) and I have been doing this long enough to know that shows like this don’t come along every day. It’s such an alchemy of writing, directing, acting, crew, streamer, studio, and fans. We remain grateful and excited to continue this journey and tell these stories with all of our partners.”
While no official announcement has been made about its release date, one can expect the show to hit our screens by 2027. “Our goal for Season 3 is the same as it is for every season: to make it the best season of Wednesday we possibly can. We want to continue digging deeper into our characters while expanding the world of Nevermore and Wednesday,” Alfred Gough said in a statement.
