Is it Miss Scarlett who shot the victim with a revolver in the dining room? Or was it Professor Plum who hit him with a candlestick in the library?
It looks like Netflix will finally give you the answer, as the streamer has now acquired the rights to adapt the Hasbro board game, “Clue” (or known in the rest of the world as “Cluedo”) into a competition show.
“Like so many families and friends over the years, we’ve gathered around the table trying to figure out who did it – making Clue a source of nostalgia that everyone shares,” said Jeff Gaspin, VP of unscripted series for Netflix. “Thanks to the incredible vision of our partners at Hasbro Entertainment, IPC, and B17, we’re delivering a fresh, imaginative whodunit competition that will invite today’s audiences into that iconic world.”

The new competition show is being produced by Hasbro Entertainment, joined by Sony Pictures Television’s The Intellectual Property Corporation (IPC) and B17 Entertainment. Sony acquired the rights to adapt Clue last year.
Not much has been revealed regarding the game show, but Netflix stated that players will have to undergo physical and mental challenges in order to receive clues.
It is noted that the murder mystery game, devised by British board game designer Anthony E. Pratt. in the 1940s, has previously been adapted into a movie starring Tim Curry in 1985.
